User-Friendly Touch-Up Kit Now Available From Tnemec
(KANSAS CITY, Mo., August 10, 2009) – Tnemec Company, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance protective coatings for industrial and specialty architectural markets, has announced the availability of a new touch-up kit featuring Series FC22 Epoxoline, according to Doug Hansen, Sales Director, Water Tanks.
“Fast and convenient, the 2-in-1 six-ounce tube configuration is great for small repairs, holidays and touch-ups,” reports Hansen. “The new packaging is very user-friendly and contractors will appreciate its compatibility with other Tnemec coating systems used in water storage and treatment applications.”
The tube contains the two-component epoxy product and requires a 26:1 thrust ratio gun and disposable static mixer, both of which are available from Tnemec. After the surface to be repaired has been properly cleaned with power tools to provide a scarified, dry surface free of dust, dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants, the needed amount of material is then dispensed. A putty knife or spatula can be used to spread the material. Once the repair is complete, any unused material can be retained in the tube for future use.
A fast cure modified polyamine epoxy, Series FC22 Epoxoline is a 100 percent solids, thick film lining that can be applied in one coat. It is certified in accordance with ANSI/NSF Std. 61 for use on tanks and reservoirs of 5-gallons capacity or greater, and can be returned to service in 24 hours.
“Series FC22 is a great option for water tank and treatment projects because it’s more tolerant and forgiving of environmental conditions during application when compared to polyurethane and polyurea products,” says Hansen.
